Park Ranger the Value of Story Telling with Jody Maberry

Jody Maberry left his suit and tie to become a Park Ranger.   He has led team as large as 1000 people, and led a concert series and hosted other events.

I am really excited about Jody’s favourite quote by Napoleon Hill “If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.”

“Just showing up everyday and doing that particular day the best I could, it eventually built up.”

Jody was a park ranger for 8 years and although he is no longer a park ranger he started a podcast called Park Leaders.  This combines his “educational background, business background and my absolute passion for parks.”

Jody has recently launched a podcast with Disney’s Lee Cockerell, Creating Disney Magic.  How fun is that!

Jody proves when you are passionate you’re willing to give it a go.  “I took the long-shot, I took the thing that would seem improbable and I just did it anyway.”

Jody recommends:
Charity: Any charity that helps out parks.
Internet: WonderList
Book: QBQ by John G. Miller

Jody’s top tips on Managing Large Teams

  1. Figure out what you can stop doing.
  2. Find out what only you can do.
  3. Find somebody else to do the rest

Keep your kids involved in what you’re doing.
